The annual Community Appreciation Breakfast sponsored by the Dodgeville Lions and Lioness Clubs is set for Sunday, February 17 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. There will be pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, milk, juice and coffee. Come hungry, and bring a friend. It's FREE! The club(s) host this annual event, to thank everyone in the community for supporting our various fundraisers and projects throughout the year! Any donated proceeds this year go to the Dodgeville Food Locker.

The annual Highland Lions Club Fisheree has changed "days" this year and will be held on Saturday (not Sunday), January 26th at Blackhawk Lake, between Highland and Cobb. So, mark your calendar now for that change. We hope for some ice on the lake by that time too!

Starting next Saturday we are supposed to get a little change in the weather as far as colder temperatures go. It is supposed to reach single digits Friday night with that trend going on at night (double digits during the day) for a few days. Then the following Wednesday (23rd) it is supposed to reach the mid 20s and stay that way into February. Boy the winter sure seems to be going fast - I'm talking February already!

We are hoping to hold a Dodgeville School Board candidate forum in the next couple of weeks. Check for more on that next week!

Someday I'll figure out the driving habits of some people. the other day I was heading south on the main drag of Dodgeville (Iowa Street) and the person right in front of me decided to make a U-turn at the intersection of Iowa and Division Streets in front of Kwik Trip. Now I'm not sure, but I believe a U-Turn on a state/federal highway is illegal!

This is "National Blood donor Month" - so if you get a chance to give blood, please do so. Hospitals are ALWAYS in need of blood!
