Meyers gets her 1000th in battle with Panthers

Going into the game with Iowa-Grant Darlington guard Kaylee Meyers needed 15 points to become a career 1000 point scorer.
She did it the hard way.
Meyers nailed a trio of three pointers the first half and added two the second to make her mark in Redbird scoring history.
"She is a very good player and deserves it," said Iowa-Grant coach Dan Liddicoat.
Meyers and teammate Kathleen Mathias led the Redbirds to a 62-47 win over the Panthers in a SWAL game Thursday. Mathias added 12 points to Darlington's total.
The Panthers were not without some scoring punch of their own. Logan Hubbard dropped in 18 points with Olivia Liddicoat and Annie Spurley both adding 14.
Liddicoat had 10 of her total the second half which was half the points the Panthers scored in those 18 minutes.
Taylor Runde scored one point to go with the three double figure scorers to get to the final total for the Panthers.
