Sunday was the annual Dodgeville Lions Club's FREE Community Breakfast at the Dodger Bowl. Even with snow falling since before 4 a.m. we served over 200 people. Kudos to everyone who braved the elements and came out for a good cause - all donations are going to the Dodger Food Locker!

The breakfast Sunday went until noon and then at 1:00 I ventured a few feet to the west at the Dodger Bowl into the bowling alley to help with the 2nd Annual Bowl With The Dodgers event that is sponsored by the Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce. The grade school kids got a chance to bowl with high school seniors who represented a lot of the sports and clubs at Dodgeville High School (see above photo). I really think the high schoolers had as much fun as the youngsters. They gave a lot of bowling lessons to the young kids. Everyone had pizza and drinks too! This a real good "feel good" event by the chamber.

Congratulations to the Mineral Point girls basketball team as they won two games last week and clinched the 2019 SWAL championship. They now have a bye in tournament play for this past Tuesday night. The other area teams all played and hopefully won and advanced to more play this Friday night. Good luck to all teams!

The high school boys brackets for tournament play were released over the weekend. They begin play Tuesday, February 26. Again, good luck to all teams!

WIAA Individual wrestling is this weekend at the Kohl Center in Madison. The area is well represented with competitors with 13 from our coverage area and a whole lot more from southwest Wisconsin. Good luck to all of them too!

I'm really getting tired of shoveling snow - how about you?
