Dodgeville-Mineral Point gymnasts finished runner-up to Mount Horeb (again) at the Lisa Steger Platteville Invitational Saurday.
The Vikings amassed 144.650 points to Dodge-Point's 133.300.
The rest of the team scores were: Waunakee 131.250, Plattyeville/Belmont/Lancaster 129.250, River Valley 126.250, Monona Grove 124.075, Baraboo 123.950, Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton 122.975, Sauk Prairie 122.925, Whitewater 121.775, Viroqua 121.200, Reedsburg 112.450, Prairie du Chien/Fennimore 107.550.
Dodge-Point's Miah Lemanski finished third in All-Around with a 35.425 total, trailing Mount horeb's Andrea O'Connell at 37.825 and Elisa Weier with 35.725.
Lemanski was fourth on bars with 8.4, fifthon floor at 9.275, ninth on vault at 8.650 and fifth oon beam with 9.100.
Tessa Bockhop took second on bars with an 8.900.
Barneveld's Lorisa Shatrawka, competing for River Valley/Barneveld, won floor with a 9.575 and took fifth in All-Around at 34.750.
"We were really impressed with the girls performace," said Dodge-Point coach Julia Oellerich. "They continue to get better and more confident with their skills and it is showing in their presentation and scores."
She went on saying, "We saw lower scores than normal on vault, which is usually a strong event for us. With limited practices due to weather, we chose to focus on other events when we were able to practice, and that hurt us on Saturday."
"This meet was improtant for us because it served as our conference meet against Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton," she added.
"We scored our season high and that was in large part due to beam. Elle Honerbaum and Miah Lemanski had no fall routines for some nice scores. They both also had beautiful floor routines which led to some of their season high scores. Tessa Bockhop had a really nice bar routine, just one tenth off her season high."
"Things are starting to click for us and it is happening at the right time of the year. We are excited to see them perfom at Conference this Thursday," the coach concluded.
