Trio of Lady Hillmen hit double figures in win over Dodgers

Platteville's top ranked team in Division 3 received one of their top challenges of the season from the Dodgeville girls team Friday but it wasn't enough.
The Dodgers lost by 18 to the Lady Hillmen but stayed closer to the SWC powerhouse than most.
Junior 5-11 guard Olivia Argall had an active night for the Dodgers with 24 points.
Platteville got double figures from Sami Martin who led with 12, Izzy Carroll with 17 and Becca Hoyer with 13.
"It was a fun game to play," Dodgeville coach Josh Busch said. "I thought our girls played with an intensity and focus we have not played with for awhile."
Busch said he was impressed with the defensive effort.
"We were really good defensively most of the night," Busch added. "We played very good defense in the half court."
Busch credited AJ Phillips with doing a good job on Division 1 recruit Sami Martin.
"AJ made her earn everything she got," the coach said. "We made all of them earn it."
Busch felt the offense the Dodgers mustered the first half was good.
"We made shots and gave us a chance to compete," he said. "I think we hit six threes the first half which is a season high for us. Everyone got into it on the offensive end and we need more of that."
"I felt this was a huge step for us and hopefully we can continue to grow from this game."
