Christmas editorial 12-26-19

By Kasi Greenwood-kgreenwood@thedodgevillechronicle.com

The early deadline sure made things interesting! Because of the day on which Christmas falls on, readers will get their papers one day earlier...how about that for a Christmas present? Speaking of which, a subscription to the Dodgeville Chronicle is a great stocking stuffer, be sure to call us at 608-935-2331.
Christmas is a different meaning to everyone. Whether you are traveling or staying home, make sure that you take care of yourself. Enjoy that hot chocolate, put on that favorite Christmas movie (or movies....if you can't pick just one) and snuggle under that favorite blanket (although the weather sounds like it could be somewhat warm. It doesn't take the skin off my back if there isn't snow this year. I might not have the same opinion as others).
As many are aware it is the season to reflect on the past year, and recognize the good and the bad.
As mentioned before, Christmas is a different meaning for everyone.
For some, Christmas will mean making a difference for a family that can't afford gifts for their children. It could be a group of people in the community having a bake sale and sharing delicious Christmas cookies. It could mean a family hitting the mall to meet Santa Claus, and relish in the photos of their child meeting the jolly old fellow (or the child could be scared out of their mind and crying). It could mean a young newly married couple traveling to another country for a belated honeymoon wedding present. It may mean a young little girl or boy may hear scratching on their gift box, that reveals a new puppy that they have always wanted. It could also be a harder time of the year, as it may be the first year that the Christmas season is celebrated after the loss of a loved one.
No matter what Christmas brings this year, do your best to have a happy and safe one.
