D/P soccer plays well in 1-0 loss

Even though the Sugar River soccer co-op was able to pull out a 1-0 win over Dodgeville/Mineral Point it wasn't a disappointment for coach Kyle Glynn.
"We played pretty well," he said. "Sugar River is a good team and last year beat us 6-0. This was an improvement and I can't be disappointed with our effort. I am happy with the result."
Sugar River scored on a free kick with five minutes gone in the first half. Breckin Faber got the goal with an assist from Charlie Douma.
"Other than that our defense did a good job keeping them away from the goal," said Glynn.
The D/P squad had some chances but could not get on the board.
"We just couldn't put one in," Glynn added.
Sugar River had 16 shots on goal with Dodgeville's Elijah Gregg deflecting 15 of them.
Dodgeville/Mineral Point had 12 shots on goal, all saved by Julian Lutz.
The D/P squad will travel to Monroe tonight to take on the Cheesemakers.
