Things are going pretty well following my stroke almost a month ago - St. Pat's weekend. I still get pretty worn out by mid-day, but everybody say I look good. My reply "Boy that's changed - I never have looked good!" I wish I could've made it to the "class reunion luncheon" last Friday at the Red Room, but I had a Grilled Cheese Championships meeting at the same time - haven't found a way to be two places at the same time yet, but I'm working on it!

Speaking of the Grilled Cheese Championships, it's not too far down the road. It's the last Saturday of April (27th). It's always a great time and to see Ley Pavilion at Harris Park filled to the hilt with people watching the competitors make their famous sandwiches. There will be a lot of local and area vendors there, a game and fun area for the kids plus the food trucks that will provide great meals made with cheese and much more! The Dodgeville FFA is back with their grilled cheese stand for the youngsters and the Ice Wolves Hockey will provide refreshments alongside them. Of course, there's the famous beer and wine area and this year the Dodgeville Lions Club is providing the "Cheese Curd" stand. Many of our "famous"judges are back with some new ones and Kyle Cherek will provide a lot of fun with his announcing. Plus watch the famous cheese carver, Troy Landwehr, come up with another great creation! It goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 27th.

Great weather on Monday with temperature in the low 70s, but Wednesday may find a mix of snow and rain - yuck! Hopefully things on the way to a pretty good spring so everybody can get all their games/meets in and not have them be bunched one after another!

Besides the Grilled Cheese event on the 27th there is also a huge fundraising event for the Free Clinic at the Wisconsin Riverside Resort in Spring Green that day. Love Dodgeville is coming up the first weekend of May too. It's always a busy time come May with all the schools finishing up, including colleges/universities. That will mean that there will be a bunch of young people around for a few months anyway.

This Sunday (14th) at the Riverside Resort is a "memory" celebration of life for the late Erin Honerbaum Jacobson. She passed a couple weeks ago from her long battle with cancer. She was in a graduating class where I have many very special friends. I hope to get to it, but I still get pretty tired by mid afternoon, especially on the weekends.

My crossing "main street" has changed some. Instead of walking out in front of vehicles and pretty much forcing them to stop, I stop and watch to make sure they are stopping as I'm walking slower. Also there is a lot more traffic at times due to the increased traffic due to construction. That is supposed to last from the south until mid or late June and then we will get it from the north/east until November. (see above photo - but it's not this bad!).
