Weather or not?

By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com

Have we forgotten about the minus 60 degree temperatures that forced even bars in Wisconsin to close and the cessation of mail delivery for two days?
I doubt if anyone has forgotten about those dangerous days which serve as a reminder that Mother Nature is in charge.
In a quick change-around the several feet of snow that dotted our landscape are mostly gone but guess what? There could be another round this weekend.
Soon we will be complaining about too much rain, too little rain, too hot or too cold. It never really changes.
But that is ok. Complaining about the weather is something that is our right and it seems we do it well.
The weather plays a big part in our moods whether we want to admit it or not. I saw more "cabin fever" this year than I have for awhile as people saw many days in a row of some of the worst weather experienced in their lifetime. But now that seems to be getting better for everyone.
Temperatures are in the 40s and 50s for the most part, the snow is virtually gone and high school sports teams are actually getting in some games. All those are signs that spring is here.
And if that is the case, can summer be far behind? And will we complain about it being too hot?
If we have not learned anything else we should have learned to respect the weather. Too much cold and too much heat can be problematic to your health.
Enjoy the weather but respect what it can do at the same time.
