Enjoy the Cornish Festival
By Kasi Greenwood-kgreenwood@thedodgevillechronicle.com
I've always enjoyed the Cornish festival, as I find that it takes me back to my senior year of high school, as a Mineral Point student. Every other year, Mineral Point high school students have the opportunity to cross the pond and learn about the history of Cornwall as well as learning about Redruth's twinning with Mineral Point.
I was one of many MP students who happened to partake on this opportunity. Any MP students who have been bitten by the travel bug, I highly encourage them to consider taking this trip. I guarantee its one you'll never forget.
The trip to Cornwall is not the only way that one can enjoy the many happenings of the Cornish festival. As a matter of fact, Glen Ridnour has been newly elected as a bard by Gorsedh Kernow (according to Mineral Point's Democrat Tribune) for his service to Cornish identity in the U.S.A. I extend my congratulations to Ridnour on this accomplishment. I can attest to his dedication.
For those who haven't had the opportunity to visit Mineral Point for its annual Cornish festival, I highly suggest considering it.
