We're back at it again this Sunday at Centennial Park in Dodgeville for "Fall Ball," baseball by teams from Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Barneveld and Sluggers. Games start at 9 a.m. and run until 5 p.m. The concession stand will be in operation all day long. Games continue the next two Sundays (16th and 23rd) and then baseball season is done around here anyway!

A huge event on Sunday, September 16 is the Dodgeville Area Scholarship Foundation's Golf Outing (DASFI). Players are a lot of DHS graduates and friends. There may be a teacher or two taking part also! Even if you don't play golf, stop out to Dodge Point Country Club anytime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and see some people you probably haven't seen in years!

It was a good time over the Labor Day weekend at the Iowa-County Fair. I got to see a bunch of people I usually don't get to see very often. Saturday morning it rained a lot so the fair board decided to give free admission the rest of the day - that was a good choice. The weather came around for the rest of that day and held pretty good on Sunday too. I was really tired when I got home Saturday night. The beef show, and the animal sale did me in!

I'm sure all the youngsters are happy about heading back to school this week! There were a few schools that started earlier, but the majority began on Tuesday. If things hold true to most years, the weather turns very hot for a couple of weeks!

With the threat of rain on Sunday, it held off really well for the Ridgeway Labor Day celebration. Highland also had a Labor Day celebration that the rain missed too!

One of our "old faithfuls" Jeanie Lewis took photos of the Ridgeway Labor Day parade Sunday. She is always ready to "jump back in" when we need her! Check out one of her parade photos above!
