Last few days of summer
By Kasi Greenwood-kgreenwood@thedodgevillechronicle.com
Iowa County Fair is also a means to both a beginning, and an end. It's the end of summer vacations, barbeques, softball tournaments, State Fair, and many other things one can expect during a summer. It's also the beginning of a new school term. Tuesday morning after Labor Day, kids will dawn backpacks and be dropped off at their schools to start a new year of learning. Iowa County Students, I have an important message for you as the new school year rapidly approaches.
Take the time to appreciate the long hours put in by teachers who strive to give you the best education possible. Also take the time to appreciate your parents, as they also have the same common goal as your teachers. Don't be afraid to ask questions, learn from your mistakes, don't show up late for class, get good grades, and also treat others the way you want to be treated. If you see a student being picked on, I know you have it in your heart to stand up for that student. That student may just become one your best friends. You are allowed to have more than one. The Dodgeville Chronicle wants to hear and report on all of the good things that area students are partaking in. Make it a great year for yourselves.
Enjoy these last few days of summer, and best of luck in the upcoming school year.
