Dear Editor:
In looking over the proposed 500 seat auditorium that will be on a referendum presented to voters in the Dodgeville school district this November I can't help but see so many good possibilities if it passes.
A 500 seat auditorium will allow for so many events that can be held that will benefit the entire area. There is no other auditorium in Iowa County or facility that can provide as much as the proposed auditorium can. It can be used for both school and community events and will be a wonderful addition to the entire area.
I have reviewed the plans and as someone who spent 50 years putting on dance recitals at the present high school gym I have to say they are very well thought out and complete. The auditorium will have quality lighting and sound, a large stage that can serve many purposes, an art gallery lobby wth restrooms conveniently located and adequate space for dressing rooms and scenery room. It will be a great auditorium.
While the dance recitals are scheduled for the Richland Center auditorium it is very possible that they could be moved back to Dodgeville at a later date.
I feel this is the right time to build the auditorium and I sincerely hope voters pass this referendum.
