How about those Brewers though? They made it a sweep of the Rockies on Sunday! Only allowing two runs in three games and having a run of 19 straight scoreless innings is huge, especially since everyone said "they need a quality starter!"

Last week it was announced that Bill and Leesa Wall were closing Kozelka Wall Clothing in downtown Dodgeville. They have been pretty much the "anchor" retail business for 40 years. Several years back we lost another "anchor" in Dodgeville True Value. Our downtown can't stand losing any more retail businesses - we need someone to come in and start a business!

Good luck to Bill and Leesa on their retirement!

The Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for "Trunk or Treat" that will be outside of the Chronicle and Courthouse buildings in the parking lot on Saturday, October 27th. Besides the trunks filled with treats, there will be games for the youngsters and a "Haunted House" in the basement of the Congregational Church, that is just to the south of the parking lot. Things wil kick off with a FREE movie at Dodge Theatre beginning at 11:00 a.m. The movie will be "Casper" and please just bring any canned good or non-perishable food item for admittance!

The annual "Fall Art Tour" will be held October 19-21 with tours starting in Mineral Point or Baraboo and running to Mineral Point or Baraboo (and all stops in between). If the rain ever stops, the fall colors should be out in full force by then. There are a lot of people who make that tour and stop at businesses along the way too!

Wednesday I was at Bob's BBQ meeting Dan Roble and Bob Kratochwill. I was running late and had to wash my hands before joining them "way back" in the restaurant. Anyway, I headed right to my table and didn't even notice my cousin Jean (Reilly) Halverson, from Richland Center, sitting in a booth very close to me. I'm glad she said something or I would've felt very foolish if I had seen her leave and not even say hi! She was with a friend, Vickie Staskal, from Oregon, who I have had lunches with before.
