Thank You Iowa County Board

Dear Editor;
I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Iowa County Board of Supervisors for voting unanimously to be an Intervenor in the Public Service Commission (PSC) proceedings regarding the Cardinal-Hickory Creek (CHC) transmission line. About 80 people attended the monthly meeting while the County Board asked thoughtful questions and debated the pros and cons of becoming an Intervenor. Their unanimous decision to do so will give legal weight to the resolution they passed in May 2017 opposing construction of the lines.
On November 8th I attended a "Scoping Session" hosted by the PSC and the Department of Natural Resources regarding CHC. I left feeling dejected, believing that my individual voice had no way to effectively go up against a bureaucracy that seems intent on building these lines. On November 13th my dejection changed to elation because my County Supervisors decided to add their collective, more powerful voice to all the individual voices who are opposed to the transmission lines.
Thank you, Iowa County Supervisors, for being committed to protecting our precious land, our resources, and our citizens.
Sincerely,
Betsy D'Angelo
