Dodgers drop a stubborn Sauk Prairie

In an up and down ball game for the Dodgeville girls basketball team, the host Dodgers came out on top of Sauk Prairie 60-52.
The Dodgers led 31-16 at halftime, but trailed after a 16-2 run by the Eagles.
They eventually led 60-45, but Sauk Prairie scored the final seven points off their press to make it interesting down the stretch.
Oliovia Argall popped in 23 points to lead all scorers with JoJo Heimeral hitting 20.
Heimerl made eight of 10 freethrows the second half and also nailed a huge three pointer that gave the Dodgers the lead for good.
Argall put in 13 points in the first half and was 10x10 from the charity stripe.
Sauk Prairie was led by both Riley and Naomi Breunig with 16 points each.
"We started out really well. We rotated around on our press. We did a good job boxing out and not giving them second chances," said Dodger coach JoshBusch.
"They slowed us down with their zone and then we gave up a 16-2 run," he added. "We didn't seem to have the energy we had in the first half.":
"Credit the girls, we got a little space and hit our free throws (24 of 33)," he said. "We have to be better at closing out games, but we're young and learning. We gave them too many opportunities down the stretch.
