Dodgers rake care of RV

Ellie Argall hammered a two run homer and Serena Phan a solo shot to lead the Dodgeville softball team to an 11-1 rout of River Valley in SWC play Tuesday.
Audrey White also tripled and scored in front of Argalls round tripper.
Phan and JoJo Heimerl both had doubles.
That launched a 12-hit attack against River Valley's Taylor Eberle and Ali Hoffman.
Eberle went four frames striking out five and walking two while giving up seven runs and seven hits.
Hoffman went the final frame allowing five hits and four runs with two walks.
Dodger hurler Lindsey Murphy gave up just an unearned run and two hits. She fanned five and walked a pair.
The Dodgers scored four in the third, one in the fourth and finished the game in five with six runs. That was when Ellie Argall poked her two run blast.
Ellie Argall, Murphy, Phan and Heimerl each collected two hits.
White, Raven Mortimer, Grace Borne and Olivia Argall all had one.
Carmen Hood and Briana Gilbert both singled for the lone River Valley hits.
Dodger coach Gene Van Dyck talked about the game :"This looked like a trap game after the let down on the last game Saturday. Korra Wasley is out with an ankle injury and Lindsey could not get her pitching arm much above her waist on Sunday and couldn't get it shoulder high yesterday. The girls showed up to the park late and just went thru the motions warming up. They didn't look at all special and that continued for the first 2 innings. The ump had a baseball strike zone and Lindsey kept throwing up in the zone and not getting the call. That was OK as the air was light and there was a good breeze blowing out. It was a day to really keep the ball down."
"We gave Valley an unearned run in the top of the third on a lead off walk and 2 errors without getting a hit. But in the bottom of the third, Serena Phan led off with a walk and JoJo Heimerl followed with an rbi double to tie the score. Just like that the energy level changed as Ellie Argall followed with a rbi single and then Lindsey Murphy doubled for 2 rbi and a 4 to 1 lead and it was on."
"Lindsey for the first time this year had a really good well located drop ball along with a good change up. She really tied up their hitters the rest of the game. Valley did collect a couple of hits in the top of the fifth on 2 mis-hit bloopers that lit in the infield right between 2 diving fielders but Lindsey closed it out with three straight fly ball outs to end any threat."
"Serena homered in the fourth to really get the players excited and up. We then scored 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth including a home run by Ellie, a triple off the top of the fence by Audrey White, a double by Serena. We had 7 hits and then a walk to Ellie to end the game on the 10 run rule.
