The 3rd Annual "Love Dodgeville" took place in beautful weather Sunday morning. I stopped at the Dodgeville High School Arboretum around 11:00 a.m. to catch the Dodgeville Lions Club members working on the new steps so it will be easier to get into the arboretum. Then I made stops at the bike trail between Dodgeville and Mineral Point, Culver's Garden, the elementary school and back to the arboretum. Sorry I missed Upland Hills Health and Governor Dodge State Park! There was a great group of volunteers and I'm sure many more than last year due to the weather. People were telling me they were looking for an excuse to be outside! Check out the young girl trimming brush at the arboretum (above photo).

I want to congratulate yet another high school athlete on her signing to play soccer at Northland College in Ashland, a Division III school - Dodgeville's Makayna Lemanski, a Dodge-Point soccer player. She did me a favor a couple of times by taking state gymnastics photos where her sister, Myah, was competing and winning medals the past two years. I have gotten a chance to watch Makayna over the years - she's a very good soccer player!

I saw a bunch of vehicles outside of the Dollar Tree Store at Dodgeville's north end the other day with the doors opened to the building. The official opening date is Thursday, May 10 - soft opening. They are planning a Grand Opening on Saturday, May 19.

Dodgeville and Mineral Point currently both have softball teams in first place in their respective leagues. Barneveld is in the running in their league too. Good luck to all the teams - plus baseball - as they continue on!

Schools are winding down for the year. Graduations will begin in the next week or so. That will put a lot of students out in the world looking for summer jobs and some for full-time jobs as they have graduated! There will also be a lot of school activities coming up as the year's wind down. Plus there will be a lot of graduation parties out there!

Dr. Kym (Kymberly Fritz), owner of Dodgeville Dental has announced she has acquired the Southwest Dental Associates office building near Lands' End. She says her practice has grown and she has run out of space, so the move was necessary. I believe that means Dr. Michael Fisher will be retiring. The move takes place June 1.

If there are any baseball players out there looking to play home talent baseball, the Dodgeville Knights are short of players. Brother Pat has never really sought out players, so I thought I would mention it!
