Pointer softball blanked by Heights


Mineral Point's softball team opened its 2018 season with a 9-0 loss to Wiscconsin Heights Friday.
Heighs hurler Tayler Kraemer distributed the four hits she allowed to the Pointers well enough for the shutout.
Lady Vanguard Kaela Kraemer was 2x4, leading their five-hit attack.
Heights took advantage of eight free passes by Pointer hurler Dana Schmitz.
Pointer Morgan James polled a double as the only extra base hit in the contest.
