When I said I don't know much about cable television repair, I don't really know how to set mine up correctly. As most people know, I am pretty technology/mechanically illiterate - in fact don't even hand me a screwdriver!

I had to break down and buy a new(er) vehicle. My Malibu died on me as I was backing out of my garage. I was into the street and shifting to move forward and onto work on a Saturday morning. It stalled and wouldn't start - just kept turning over and over and over. It was the timing chain (or belt) that was gone and it would've taken more money to fix it than the vehicle was worth. That's the first time I actually drove a vehicle until it died! I am now driving a 2015 black Equinox. I'm still learning about all the in and outs of operating all the gadgets that comes with it. I'm the kind of a guy who likes just the basics - and I just mean the bare basics. Anyway I keep pushing buttons to get things I want to find out about or change (like the hours forward to change on the clock). I'm able to turn the heat on, change radio stations, put it in cruise and even lock or unlock all the doors. Besides, why would I want to read the directions (guy thing!). I have had a few people tell me they recognize me in it because of my hat!

Mineral Point's boys basketball team suffered a very tough loss in the Division 4 sectional finals - one game short of going to state - 62-61 on a last second free throw by Pardeeville. They have a season to be proud of going 21-5 and winning 15 in a row (before Saturday) after suffering their fourth loss early in the season - to Roncalli, another team at state. They are very young and should be a force to reckon with not only in the SWAL, but the state for several seasons for sure! Check out the above photo of the Pointer band playing on stage at Baraboo Saturday.

Don't forget the Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce still needs volunteers for the Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championships to be held at Harris Park Saturday, April 28. Stop at or call the chamber (935-9200) to do so. They need help setting up all day Thursday plus working all day Saturday. There will be another kick-off event, featuring several cheesemakers with talks and samples, on Friday night, March 27 at Dodger Bowl. Check out the chamber website at www.dodgeville.com
