Pointers top Redbirds, win regional

Mineral Point's Isaac Lindsey and Brayden Dailey combined for 50 points Saturday night to lead the Pointers to a Division 4 Regional Championship 75-50 over Darlington.
Lindsey hit 26 points with 15 coming in the first half to help propel the Pointers to a 42-23 lead.
At that same time, Brayden Dailey was putting in half of his 24.
"We had contributions from a lot of guys on both ends of the floor," Pointer coach Dan Burreson said. "Isaac Lindsey and Brayden Dailey both had big nights scoring. Isaac also had four assists. Chance (Wendhausen) had another strong performance with five assists, four steals, to go along with six points. He did a nice job again of finding the open man again. Wes Berget was solid with eight points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals."
"This is always an intense game with Darlington and tonight was no different," the coach added. "We were much better tonight after having already played a tournament game. We started strong and played pretty well throughout."
Burreson also said, "We also had great production out of Garrett Wendhausen with seven points."
"Regional titles are a pretty big deal. A lot of teams don't get to regional finals let alone win them I am really proud of this group as they continue on this journey. They are playing hard and playing for each other," Burreson pointed out.
Playoffs are now down to 16 teams left per division. They were to have played La Crosse Aquinas Wednesday night in Richland Center at 7:00.
Darlington was led offensively by Carter Lancaster with 12 points.
Tanner Evenstad hit 11.
