Edgerton ends Dodger boys season

Dodgeville' boys basketball team held the lead pretty much for more than 30 minutes, but unfortunately for them the game goes to 36 minutes.
The end result was a 72-60 win by Edgerton to advance to the D3 Regional finals on Saturday.
The Dodgers held a 30-29 lead at halftime and Edgerton was down 11 at the 10 minute mark of the second frame. They called timeout and then they started their run.
"This was a game of big runs and they were able to make the last big run.," Dodger coach Matt McGraw said. Edgerton called a timeout with 10 minutes to play and we held a 11 point lead. It was an exciting moment. Unfortunately the last run started then for Edgerton."
He added, "We played well, executed our game plan and had chances to come away with a victory. I am proud of our team, they left it all out there. Edgerton's pressure late in the game took us out of the rhythm we had for most of the game. It sounds like that is how Edgerton has won a lot of games."
Edgerton was led offensively by a trio of 6'3 seniors and 10 three pointers.
Jacob Fox led with 25 while Alec Johnson put in 15 and Donovan Cone hit 14.
Fox had 18 first half points while Cone hit 12 in the second half and at the same time Johnson had nine.
Dodger senior post Bryce Prochaska finished his career at DHS with a strong 31 points.
Senior Brantley Eastman added 11 with fellow senior Nate James hitting 9.
"As a player and coach you always want one more game" McGraw went on saying." I believe we were playing our best team basketball when it counted most. I am thankful for the seniors dedication to the team. They all (Riley Glonek, Bryce Prochaska, Nate James, Brantley Eastman) have come a long way in the three years we have been together. I am also thankful for what Riley VanEgdom has brought to the team through his student coaching role."
"Endings are tough. Sitting in the locker room after a playoff loss is one of the hardest parts of coaching. But with one ending comes a new beginning for the next group of Dodgers," McGraw concluded saying.
