Dodger boys clear first hurdle

Bryce Prochaska was double and triple teamed and sometimes four guys were around him but he managed to score 24 points to lead the Dodgeville boys basketball team to a 66-46 win over Brodhead in D3 regional quarter-finals Tuesday night.
It was junior Noah Blalock who ignited the Dodgers with four three pointers in the first half. Prochaska and Adam Phillips both added seven points. Dodgeville held a 33-27 lead at the intermission.
"We talked about the first three minutes of the second half being key at halftime," said Dodger coach Matt McGraw.
The team listened as it took just over three minutes for Brodhead to score while the Dodgers were going on a 13-0 run. Most points came from Prochaska with Phillips hitting another trey and Brantley Eastman adding a layup.
Brodhead eventually came back to cut the lead to nine, but a big three by Riley Glonek started the ball rolling again for the Dodgers.
"Give Brodhead credit," McGraw said. "They played very hard. Their transition game was very good..
On the night, besides Prochaska, Blalock hit 14 points with both Phillips and Eastman adding 10 Glonek hit eight as only five players scored.
Brodhead was led by Brekan Day with 20, mostly in transition. Justice Tway added 11 with Johnson hitting 10.
"Adam defensed Johnson well. He was the one we were worried about," McGraw said. "Adam kept him out of sync."
