Dear Editor;
Apparently, our U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has not read much history. If he had, he would have known that the Bible verses he mentioned to justify the treatment of Hispanic families at our southern border - in Romans 13 - are the exact same verses that Hitler and the Nazis used to cow the German citizens into watching silently as millions of people were sent to the gas chamber. He would have known that slavery, too, was justified by Romans 13 as were other historic atrocities.
It is such a sad day for the country we love when we realize that our leaders are no longer reflecting the values we hold dear.
You don't have to be a religious person to be deeply disturbed. It's time for everyone, including people who consider themselves to be Christians, to stand up - and take action.
