Dear Editor;
I support the investment in infrastructure that ATC is proposing in the Cardinal-Hickory Creek Project. We need safe and reliable energy and have a right to expect access to a diverse portfolio of generation options including renewables. Wisconsin has long been an importer of electricity and with the loss of generation at Rock River, Nelson Dewey, and Kewaunee that will continue. Through various media outlets, critics of the project have used emotional ramblings to garner support for their position. There is a general lack of understanding on how your electricity is generated and delivered and critics use misinformation to solicit your hard earned money in the form of contributions. Do you really believe that the people who put a sign in their yard that asks you to "fight ATC in court" are putting up their own money? Will you notice the transmission towers block your view of the billboards or the 4-lane highway? Take whatever position on this or any other issue you believe is important but please make sure you understand the issue and the position is really your own.
