In a game of runs Friday night, the Dodgeville boys basketball team took a 59-55 overtime win from visiting Prairie du Chien in SWC action.
The Dodgers led comfortably by 10 points at 27-27 at halftime, but the Blackhawks went on a run to lead by eight points midway in the second half.
Dodger Nate James hit the final four points on drives for the Dodgers to force the overtime period.
"As Dodger Assistant Coach Jeff Bradley pointed out to me, that was an 18 point swing,' said Dodger coach Matt McGraw after the game.
James then put the Dodgers ahead to start the OT period with another driving shot. He finished with 11 points on the night.
But it was fellow senior Bryce Prochaska who put the game away on both drives inside and at the free throw line. He scored 15 points after intermission and finished with a game-high 21 points.
Junior Adam Phillips nailed four three pointers at key moments and finished with 10.
"We played about as good of a first half as we have all season," McGraw said. "We limited turnovers and executed well. We handled their pressure.
But it was Prairie's pressure that caused problems early in the second frame.
"We started the second half with a turnover and misses some shots. I felt we responded well to have been down by eight and come back. We took a timeout and addressed the fact we were doing too much dribbling and not enough passing.We corrected that."
"I'm happy with what we had to do to win. it was a good solid team effort," he concluded.
Prairie sophomore Mason Kramer led them offensively with 18 points. Junior Hunter Davis, at 6'7", added 15, 13 coming after halftime.
