Wendhausen hits 1000th at Loras

Freshman Brayden Dailey scored 34 points and sophomore Isaac Lindsey hit 18, but it was senior Chance Wendhausen sho stole the show in Mineral Point's 74-30 win over Janesville, Iowa at Loras College Saturday afternoon.
Wendhausen put in a shot that put him over the 1000 point mark for his career as a pointer. His layup ear;ly in the second half put him in elite company with four other Pointers.
"I am happy for Chance," said Mineral Point coach Dan Burreson. "He has put a lot of time in, so it is really good to see him get rewarded. Getting to a 1,000 points in a career does not happen by accident. He takes a level of commitment. Chance has spent a lot of time in the gym."
Brayden Dailey helped the Pointers to a 21-7 lead after one quarter og play (Iowa plays quarters, not halves). He hit 16 of those 21 points.
The coach added, "Brayden has played well all year, but he was at a different level today. His 34 points probably came over about 18 to 20 minutes max. He scored beyond the arc, in transition, at the rim, about every way imagineable. He was really active on the defensive end as well."
Isaac Lindsey added 18 points.
"Isaac also played very well today," the coach said. "He shot it well and found the open man all day. Isaac had a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He added 4 steals as well.
The Pointers led 43-15 by intermission with Dailey at 23 points. Lindsey had 13 by then.
Burreson concluded about his team saying, "Liam Stumpf continues to play well no matter what situation we put him in and who he goes in for. He had four rebounds and four assists. As always he made things happen defensively as well. We had good effort on the boards today by Eric Heisner who finished with a team high 7 rebounds. Kevin Eisenzimmer gave us great energy and production today. Kevin had 4 steals on the day and used his length well. Wes Berget also had 4 steals today to go along with 2 assists. Wes really understands what we want to do defensively. Carver Wallace added 2 assists and a steal.
Joshua Hahn led Janesville offensively with eight points."
