I received a call from cousin Jeanette in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend. She said it was in the 60s Friday, but on Saturday it was just in the mid to high 30s and was going to be around 40 for quite some time. I think when we get back into the high 30s and 40s in another week, they are to be in the mid to high 50s. The odd weather difference between Dodgeville and Atlanta is that they have gotten more snow accumulation than we have. I know one time she received 2 1/2" and her son in another part of Atlanta received 8 1/2". I don't think our total of all snowfalls has gotten as high as the 8 1/2" mark!

On Saturday when Jeanette called she told me she had on her Atlanta Falcons' football jersey in anticipation of the playoff game later that day. She said she hoped she was still wearing it next week and for the Super Bowl two weeks later. Sorry to disappoint as the Falcons lost 15-10.

Son Michael made the trip from Muscatine, Iowa to Dodgeville last Wednesday. His wife (Jolisa) had to play cop again that day and couldn't come along. Michael said all is going OK with them, his mom and grandma, Shirley. After lunch at Bob's BBQ he headed into Madison to the Fitchburg HyVee to see his cousin, who runs a department there. He always has a huge order for "Spotted Cow" beer to take back to his friends. He probably keeps some too! Sometimes I think that's the main reason he comes to see me!

Last Saturday's breakfast with the 4 Amigos + Dave Stone took us to the Lone Rock Airport (Piccadilly Lilly Restaurant). We had a very nice breakfast and some conversation with some "locals" too!

I don't really care who wins the National Football League championship this year as long as it's not the Minnesota Vikings. No, it's not because they won the division the Packers are in. They are the only team in the playoffs that doesn't have a Wisconsin player on the roster! And they are probably the closest team (except for the Packers) to any Wisconsin University/College! Even the New Orleans Saints has a player on the roster who attended UW-Platteville!
