Iowa-Grant's boys basketball team had no answer for Mineral Point talented freshman Brayden Dailey Tuesday night as the Pointers cruised to a 105-38 SWAL win.
Dailey scored 29 of his game-high 37 points in the first half.
He had plenty of support as Isaac Lindsey put in 12 of his 19 in the first half.
Eric Heisner hit nine of his 11 in the second half, as 11 Pointers scored.
"I really thought we were focused from the opening tip. We were playing for at least a share of the conference title tonight," Pointer coach Dna Burreson said. "As a team we were really active defensively and we continue to share the ball. All 13 guys contributed to the victory. We had 11 different guys score tonight."
He added, "Brayden Dailey and Isaac Lindsey shot it well with most of their points coming in the first half, but part of that was their teammates finding them and making good passes. Eric Heisner finished in double figures including hitting a 3. Wes Berget had 5 assists and 6 steals. Heisner had 6 rebounds. Dawson Wiegman knocked down a couple triples."
"I continue to be pleased with everything that Chance brings to this team," Burreson said. Thought as a team we did a great job on the boards tonight.
The Pointers will have senior night Friday night against Riverdale with a chance to clinch the conference title outright.
Iowa-Grant was paced by Jackson Vingen with 12 points while Dakota Kohlenberg put in 10.
"We had way too many turnovers. We just didn't play well," said Iowa-Grant coach Ryan Hill. "We handled their 1-3-1 better the first time. Tonight we just didn't. We went the wrong way."
"Also they are deep and we aren't," he added.
The Panthers play a 6:00 make-up game with Richland Center hursday night with the girls playing after them.
They host Cuba City Friday night.
