Dodgeville's boys basketball team had a plan to keep Platteville from getting closer to a SWC title, but the hot shooting Hillmen had other plans.
Junior Andy Eggers hit eight three pointers (seven in the first half) to lead his Platteville team to an 83-49 win over the Dodgers.
Eggers finished the night with 26 points to lead all scorers.
His senior teammate Donavan Blevins added 22 points with 14 coming in the second half when the Hillmen had 11 players in the scoring column.
Another junior Cade Rohrbach added 12.
Another plan of the Hillmen was to put the skids on Dodger senior post player Bryce Prochaska. They held him to13 points on the night.
The Dodger offense was led by junior sharpshooter Adam Phillips. He hit four three pointers and finished the night with 15 points.
"Platteville wanted this one more than we did, unfortunately, said Dodger coach Matt McGraw. "They seemed to come up with every lose ball. It didn't help that they made 10 3's include 8/10 by Eggers. I give them a lot of credit, they played like a team on a mission."
He added, "Their pressure took us out of our comfort zone most of the night. After going down early we made a little run before half. During that time we did some good things."
"Adam had a good night offensively and I was really happy with Brantley and Riley. They both left it all out there. Dylan and David both gave us solid minutes especially on the defensive end of the court.," he also said.
In conbclusion e coach said, "Our regional/ sectional seeding meeting should be interesting. There are a lot of very even teams. We still have a lot to play for. It's time for us to put it all together."
