Highland can't match Ridge's defense

The River Ridge girls basketball team put on a defensive display Thursday night in a 57-24 win over Highland in Six Rivers West action.
The Lady Timberwolves held the Cardinals to just 7 points in the second half. They led 39-17 at halftime.
"Their defense just ate us up tonight," said Highland coach Josh Tarrell. "Unfortunately our defense didn't match theirs. We did play better defensively in the second half though. Unfortunately our offense didn't though - only seven points."
River Ridge's Skylar White pur in 12 of her game-high 16 points in the first half. Taylor Langmeier hit 9 of her 13 in the first frame too.
Highland's Maddie Drury hit seven points in the first half, but didn't score after intermission. She led the offense in point production.
Tarrell said that if there was a defensive plus that night, freshman Myah Hennessey made a nice effort with two blocked shots.
"We have sputs that we play well - unfortunately we don't have enough of them. It's getting late in the season too," Tarrell said.
