Dear Editor:
In the recent lame duck session, Representative Todd Novak did the right thing, listened to his constituents, and voted against the bills that were rushed through as an undemocratic and blatantly partisan power grab.
Senator Howard Marklein, however, chose to ignore the people in his district, who not only voted for Evers but also flooded his office with 800 calls, emails, and Facebook posts. Marklein maintains the bills "simply asserted legislative authority as part of a balanced three-branch government." He didn't explain why this suddenly needed to happen as a Democratic governor and attorney general are about to take office. Must just be a strange coincidence.
