After the Santa photos, brother Patrick AND I went to Platteville to the fundraiser for Palmer Wilson, the six year old daughter of Megan (Hodgson) Wilson. She was diagnosed with cancer in September and has been undergoing chemo treatments following the removal of a tumor. She will next have radiation treatments. Megan was a standout basketball player for Coach Jimmy Myers, who now assists her at UW-Platteville where she is head Women's Basketball Coach.

I made it to the Madrigal held at the Walker House in Mineral Point Sunday for that performance. They had one last Friday night and will hold their final one this Friday night (14th). For anyone who hasn't been toone, it's quite the performance with authentic costumes and a meal with a lot of courses served. I was there when the rules and regulations were read for those eating. They were pretty funny as they came from the "olden" days!

There are still a lot of Christmas events happening this next weekend throughout the area. For sure there are things in Linden, Ridgeway and Livingston that include Santa Claus. I'm sure there are others, but I don't know about them yet.

In Dodgeville, this Saturday and Sunday, there will be a "Little Givers' Magic Market" held in the basement of the Red Room Bar & Restaurant from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. This takes the place of the "Santa's Secret Shop" that had been run for quite a few years very successfully at the Methodist Church and then at the former Thym's (now part of Quality Liquid Feeds). At the Red Room the downstairs will be for children only and gifts are priced at $1, $5 and $10. Santa's elves will be assisting and wrapping. There will also be a craft and vendor fair upstairs and Santa will be there for you to take photos with the kids. There will also be activities and treats.
The above photo shows a youngster shopping in secret a few years ago.

It's only 12 days until Christmas. I guess I had better THINK about shopping!
