Lodi's strong second half spells doom for Dodger boys

Dodgeville boys basketball team saw a hot shooting Lodi in the second half of play Tuesday night.
With the score Lodi 23 Dodgeville 19 at halftime, you'd expect a fairly low scoring game.
The visiting Blue Devils poured in 50 points in period two and ran away from the Dodgers with a 73-54 non-conference win.
"We played hard, but they played harder," said Doger coach Matt McGraw following the contest. "They beat us in all the hustle categories - rebounds, dives on the floor and loose balls. All that turned into a lot of possessions in their favor and they took advantage of them."
Lodi was led by a 21 point effort from 6'4" senior Max Hamilton. He had 16 of those in the second half.
Junior guard Jack Persike had 13 of his 17 in the second half.
Senior guard Jackson Furniss added 11 of his 14 in period two.
The Blue Devils hit on eight three pointers, four each half.
Dodgeville was led by Noah Blalock's 16 points. He hit 14 in the second half.
Adam Phillips had 14 with 11 coming in period two.
Peyton Tranel added 11.
"Lodi shot it well," McGraw pointed out. "We were close to rebounds, but a tip would go their way and then they'd get an open look. We've got to develop more of a post presence."
The Dodgers travel to Prairie du Chien Friday night in SWC play.
