Hornets too much for Highland girls

Highland's girls basketball team learned what they need to work on this week after losing to Wauzeka-Steuben Monday.
Everything.
"We didn't shoot well, we gave up too many offensive rebounds and we had way too many turnovers," said Highland coach Josh Tarrell. "We need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and sharpen up our passing."
"The turnovers and their success on the offensive glass gave them confidence and it was all downhill from there," Tarrell added.
The Lady Hornets took a 30-17 halftime lead then rolled to a 30-10 difference the second 18 minutes. Erin Krachey and Nellie Groom both had eight points to fuel the second half surge.
Erin Krachey led W-S with 14 points with Groom adding 12 and Haley Atkinson finishing with 11.
Morgan Kosharek led Highland with seven points, all from the free throw line where she was seven for eight. Madalyn Drury added six and Megan Mueller five.
The three point shot also did no favors for Highland as the Lady Hornets found the range for seven baskets beyond the arc. Atkinson drilled three of them, Groom two with Siena Krachey and Erin Krachey getting one apiece.
"We have some work to do," Tarrell said.
