lot of commemoration to our veterans in all the area townships, villages and
cities. If you are entering Dodgeville from the south, take a look (above) at
this mural that is on the barn wall of property owned by Lorraine Hennessey
- it says it all!

Highland graduated this past Saturday with a very nice festivity at the
school. The rest of our coverage area graduations take place this weekend.
Pecatonica and Mineral Point graduate Friday eventing. Iowa-Grant and
Barneveld hold ceremonies on Saturday. Dodgeville trails the group with
their festivities on Sunday. Good luck to all the area grads - wishing them
well in their future plans!

As soon as Dodgeville's graduation is over, work completely begins on the
remodeling of the high school. People may not recognize the inside next fall!

White Oak Savanna, one of Dodgeville's newest businesses, held a Grand
Opening Saturday afternoon/evening. It is located north of Dodgeville just
off of Highway 23. It specializes in weddings and events. If you haven't taken
a look at it, well you should!

I'm hoping that by this weekend I won't have to take my "winter" coat out
anymore and can put away my longsleeve shirts. It hasn't happened yet, but
soon .... maybe!

Spring sports tournaments are pretty much in full swing. Regionals for track
and field and some golf started Monday, softball and baseball plus more golf
began Tuesday. Soccer doesn't start until June 1 though. Good luck to all
area athletes on their quest to make a trip to state. We hope to and should
have some good representation in the tournaments from our area!

If anyone still wants to purchase a Dodgeville Street sign there are still
some available at Time & Again Vintage in downtown Dodgeville. We have
a West Merrimac Street sign hanging so you can see it when you walk into
our front door at the Chronicle - thanks to Brooke Bechen!

I can't believe the number of drivers who make U-Turns right on the main
street of Dodgeville. That's a state and federal highway too - ILLEGAL!
