Eagle baseball team trounces Monticello


Barneveld's baseball team pounded out 16 its enroute to a five-inning 18-0 win over Monticello in Six Rivers action Tuesday night.
They rapped eight doubles and eight players drove in runs.
Matthew Fahey went 3x3 and drove in five runs.
Gage Schult was 2x4 and accounted for for four runs.
Trey Laube doubled twice in the 10-run first inning and drove in three runs.
Spencer Sullivan and Sam Shatrawka both were 2x3 and drove in a pair of runs.
Caleb Behnke was 2x4 with an rbi while Jacob Slaney was 1x1, Seth Sullivan 1x2 with an rbi and Trey  Gordon was 1x3 with an rbi.
Slaney worked into the fourth inning and gave up just one hit. He fanned seven without a walk and left when he was hit on the calf by a line drive.
Shatrawka finished and fanned four in 1 2/3 frames. He didn't allow a hit.
Travis McCoy took the loss for the Ponies. He went three frames and gave up 16 runs, with just six being earned. He struck out one and walked three.
Kollin Klitzke went one inning with two strikeouts, one walk and gave up two runs on three hits.
"We got redemption in a big way from earlier in the season," said Barneveld coach Lance Schmitz. "We played great. We're right there now. We pitched, hit and fielded. Eveything is clicking."
He pointed out that his two seniors, Trey Laube and Sam Shatrawka, had great games on senior night.
