Dodger softball whips Prairie

Dodgeville's softball team really took hold of second place in the SWC Tuesday with a 12-6 win at Prairie du Chien to close out regular season play.

Prairie scored once in the fourth, three times in the fifth and twice in seventh.
Murphy singled in Ellie Argall for the first run in the first frame.
"It's always tood to get a lead on Prairie right away," said Dodger coach Gene Van Dyck.
They plated four runs in the second, two in the fifth and five more in the sixth.
Murphy was 3x3 with two runs scored and a triple while Grace Borne was 3x4.
Trilby Chitwood was 2x4 with two runs scored.
Ellie Argall powered a home run and had two rbi. She was 2x3.
Serena Phan, Korra Wasley and Anna Niemeier had single hits with the Dodgers totaling 13.
"With River Valley going the other direction for regionals, we should get the top seed in ours," Van Dyck pointed out.
"Lindsey threw a well decent game and she hit well too. Korra had a double off the fence and Ellie had a booming home run. We have had a lot of double digit hit games lately," he concluded saying.
