year has passed so quickly, but here is your check to renew my subscription
for another year. I look forward to receiving each edition. Great to
see what is going on back in Dodgeville. Also cannot believe I have been
down here for 9 years. No, I do not miss the snow and cold. Keep up the
good work and hope to see you in August for my annual trip to Wisconsin."

This weekend really turned nice weather-wise. Saturday was the Southwest
Cup Golf Tournament where basically the SWAL takes on the SWC in a battle
of the two conferences. The temperature hit 80 degrees and it was great
weather all day long. Last year - the tournament is held the same weekend
each year - it snowed in the morning and that was the time I picked to go and
take photos. Kids were shrivering and dressed for winter. This year they were
in shorts and short sleeves!

Mother's Day Sunday was just as nice. I even shed my t-shirt that I have
been wearing underneath long or short sleeve shirts - and I didn't wear my
coat while in the concession stand! We had a Knights Home Talent baseball
game against West Middleton. We lost 5-2. We have a lot of youngsters, but
a few over 40 too. In fact, Bill Hellmann, our starting pitcher is almost 49 if
he isn't already! The final was 5-2 and it was a good game!

Next week starts the baseball, softball and soccer play-offs, track regionals
and golf regionals. That's a great time for all the high school kids as the
weather is great and it's fun to go and watch our team play and compete!

Our coverage area's first graduation will be at Highland Saturday, May 20.
Check out the special pages in this week's Chronicle with all the area graduates!

Upland Hills Health hosted the first "Sip & Savor" event Saturday at Harris
Park. It was a great time for all who attended. There were a lot of local and
area vendors suppling things to sample. This event will grow and grow.
There were a lot of people attending I didn't know and people say I know
everybody (not!)! The above photo shows some of the crowd.
