Along the Ad Routes
By Mike Reilly-mreilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
late Sunday night. As I was going down Johns Street I noticed a figure alongside
the road. It was standing looking toward me and then all of a sudden it
was gone. At that same time thunder and lightening started up. Now I don't
know if that figure alongside the road was real or not or if it was just something
that looked like a figure - but I would've sworn it was looking at me!
Maybe it was something to do with the storm that was just beginning......or
maybe I was just seeing things!

I spent most of Saturday working at the Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Championships
held at Harris Park. It was not a nice day outside at all. It was cold
and windy. There were soccer matches for youngsters happening outside and
in-between some of the games people came inside Ley Pavilion to warm up
It wasn't bad inside although I wore 3-4 layers all day long, but I didn't need
gloves like I thought I would!

It was a very nice Grilled Cheese Championship day. There was a great
group of volunteer workers who were busy all day long. The food vendors
all said they had a good day selling their products. Local vendor Steph's
Sweet Treats sold out very early in the afternoon. There were a lot of people
who attended. Quite a few seemed to come and go and come back again -
maybe to warmup somewhere!

Following the Grilled Cheese Championships was Dodgeville's prom. I
was pretty tired, but made it through the Grand March OK, but then headed
for home and to bed! Check out the photo above of four young guys who escorted
themselves down the walkway - from left to right are: Devin Blume,
Landon McKinlay, Tanner Bockhop and Josh Shepler.

Sunday brother Patrick and I headed to Milwaukee for Darren and Michele
Reilly's oldest son Gavin's First Communion. He's Pat's grandson too! I didn't
feel like getting up that early, but did and it was a good day. We had lunch
at their home and then watched the Brewers actually play a good game! It
rained off and on all the way to Milwaukee and then all the way back. I'm
not sure if the rain will ever end!

Now that it is May we should be starting to have a lot of plant sales around
the area. College kids will be getting out of school in a couple of weeks (or
before) and high school seniors will be starting to graduate in about three
weeks!
