Beating heroin
By J. Patrick Reilly-preilly@thedodgevillechronicle.com
So, reporting on someone who has kicked the habit is a real highlight.
Last Thursday Joey White became the first graduate of the Iowa County Drug Court. That is a lot harder to do than graduating from just about anything else though the similarity is graduating from anything takes hard work.
What is hard is being able to kick an addictive habit. Many try and sadly many never see it through.
But Joey did and that is something to be proud of both for him and for the program. The Iowa County Board has helped fund the program which is something that benefits not only the participants but the entire county.
Our hope for Joey is that he can continue to have success in his life. He is off to a good start....make that a great start...but the hard part is staying on the right path.
If Joey's support system stays in place and he takes what he has learned and builds on it he will be OK.
And that is one of the definitions of success.
