This time Hillmen too much for Dodgers

Platteville ended the Dodgeville boys basketball team's season Friday night in a D3 regional semifinal game 74-58.
The Hillmen had lost to the Dodgers a week ago 77-64. Also, both Isaac Nagel and Houston Stanek scored in the 20s in that win. This Friday night, they were held to five and six points respectively.
Platteville's Braden Nies led all scorers with 28 points. Donavon Blevins added 15 with Dillon Shinee chipping in 14.
Nies hit 9 of 10 free throws in the second half. He had 14 points in each half.
Blevins had 11 of his 15 in the second half while Shinee had 10 of his 14 in the first half.
Platteville went on to beat SWC champion Prairie du Chien for the regional championship. They play Adams-Friendship in first-round sectional action Thursday (tonight).
Dodgeville junior Bryce Prochaska led his team with 23 points with 15 coming in the first half.
Two other juniors, Brantly Eastman and Nate James, hit 11.
"This was not the ending we wanted to our season, but the conversation we had in the locker room is the conversation all but one team in the state will have," Dodgeville coach Matt McGraw said. "It's a challenging conversation as we say goodbye to the seniors, come to the realization that the season is over and reflect on the ups and downs of the season."
He added, "The score does not really reflect how competitive of a game it was. Midway through the 2nd half we tied the game up even after not playing our best and being in foul trouble. I thought considering all of that we were in a pretty good spot. Unfortunately we were then hit with the turnover bug. We can't turn it over 23 times and expect to win many games. As of late we had done a nice job of limiting turnovers and went back to some bad habits tonight."
"I am proud of many of the team's accomplishments," McGraw said. "Many teams would have thrown in the towel after starting the season 3-9 but these guys came together, improved, and finished the season 8-3. The seniors are going to be missed, they all meant an enormous amount to the team and program."
Those seniors are: Isaac Nagel, Houston Stanek, Jake Konop and Jack Hellmann. Nagel and Stanek are starters.
