Dodgeville SBR splits in two games

Dodgeville's Senior Babe Ruth team split in two games on their schedule last week.
At Ridgeway last Wednesday a nine run first put up by the Cardinals was too much to overcome and the Dodgers were forced to settle for an 11-3 loss.
Five hits, three walks and a hit batter did the damage along with two hits each by Isaac Nagel and Evan Rusch along with one by Jack Hellmann for Ridgeway.
Braeden Vivian then settled down and held the Cardinals to four hits and two more runs the final five frames. The two runs came on a round tripper by Nagel.
Nagel was 3x4, Rusch 2x4 and Hellmann 2x3 for Ridgeway. Scott Chappell went the distance for the win. He struck out five, walked five, gave up five hits and hit one batter.
Vivian struck out seven and did not walk a batter after the first.
The Dodgers got a run in the second when JJ Thompson singled, advanced on a passed ball and scored on an error.
They added two in the third on walks to Tanner Bockhop and Jr Larson, a single by Anthony Vivian - who was 2x2 - and a sac fly by Thompson. Josh Gorgen and Will Borne-Mumm both had hits for Dodgeville.
Friday the Dodgers made the most of two hits, some wildness and a dropped fly ball to hand Sauk Prairie a 4-2 loss.
With two outs in the first Anthony Vivian doubled and then scored on a single by Braeden Vivian.
Tanner Bockhop was hit by a pitch to open the third, Jr Larson walked and Anthony Vivian was hit by a pitch. Braeden Vivian lifted a deep fly ball to right that was dropped, allowing all three Dodgers to cross the plate.
Sauk scored a run in the fifth on an error then added another in the seventh on three hits.
Bockhop went six innings then left after the first two batters in the seventh singled. Anthony Vivian came on to get the final three outs.
Bockhop fanned six and Vivian one.
The Dodgers host Pecatonica Friday.
