I messed up (again) last week talking about state track. I guess I got mixed
up among state meets (tournaments) as to where people place to get on the
podium and receive medals. The Dodge-Point girls 4x200 Division 2 relay
team of Jaynie Gorgen, Syd Staver, Madison Stumpf and Jalissa Weier placed
6th and got on the podium and received individual medals. If I would've
looked more closely to the photo that was in our paper, I would've noticed
the medals around the girls' necks! Duh! Also, that meant, in Division 3, Josie
Pennison received a medal for her sixth place finish in the 400 meters. I apologize
for the mistake!

I worked concession stands four day in a row last week. Thursday and Saturday
were Home Talent baseball games at Centennial Park. Friday was a
Senior Babe Ruth baseball game at Centennial Park. Sunday was the
Dodgeville Lions Club's first of two summer antique shows and flea markets
at Harris Park. As of Sunday night, I am tired!

I think we got our hot weather over the weekend that we usually don't have
until July! Temperatures ranged into the 90s. What saved us was the breeze
(up to 30 MPH) on Saturday and some pretty good wind gusts on Sunday.

Two softball teams from the Six Rivers Conference will be playing at state
this week at Goodman Diamond in Madison. Good luck to Belmont and
Juda/Albany, both playing on Thursday!

This coming weekend is the annual Betty Hayes Dance Recital for her
Dodgeville students. That is held at Richland Center Friday evening and Saturday
afternoon. Betty had only been doing this for 70 years. Gee, that's how
old I am! She's quite the lady!

This Sunday is Father's Day. I often think of our dad. I taught him how to
play golf and then he got a lot better than me. He taught me how to bowl and
I never reached his level, but had a lot of fun bowling. We used to raise and
deliver hogs together and attend a lot of hog shows and we milked cows together
a lot too. We had a lot of good times!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Many hold the admiration
of their sons and daughters, plus some very close friends who are like a son
or daughter! Above are Pat and myself with our father, Guerdon and our
mother, Ruby in the earlier years!
