Dodgers lose 2-1 at Arcadia

Dodger pitcher Lindsey Murphy limited Arcadia to just two hits, but they made the most of them Thursday in the D 3 regional final softball contest.
Both Arcadia hits scored runs an they dropped the Dodgers from further playoff action 2-1.
Arcadia's Tract Kotlarz led off the second with a walk. She scored following a sacrifice but and a double by Cassie Berg.
They scored again in the sixth as Hannah Suchla was safe on an error. She immediately scored on lead-off hitter Abby Suchla's triple. 2-0.
Ellie Argall led off the sixth with a double for the Dodgers and scored on Raven Mortimer's one-out single.
The Dodgers' Korra Wasly walked with two out in the seventh, but a fly out ended it.
Mortimer was 2x3 with Wasley, Argall, Murphy and Serena Phan also getting safties.
The only other real scoring opportuity for the Dodgers came when Mortimer reachd third base and Grace borne second in the fourth with two out. A fly out ended that threat too.
Murphy struck out four and walkd three and allowed two runs (one earned).
Arcadia's Kendra Bjorge strufk out three, walked two and gave up just one run on six hits.
"When you reach this stage of the tournament, everyone is good," Dodgeville coach Gene Van Dyck pointed out. "It's just a matter of which team makes the winning play or even more likely which team makes the losing mistake - either mental or physical. We out-hit them six to two, but we alsohad a physical error and two mental errors that contributed to the loss. On the other hand, we stranded seven baserunners - so obviously we didn't come up with hits and runs when we could have."
"Lindsey again threw an outstanding game limiting Arcadia to just two hits and one earned run," he added.
"Defensively - led bt Korra Wasley in centerfield and Grace Borne at shortstop - we really had a very good, solid game. It's the way ball games sometimes go. There are times that the breaks just plain don't go your way. It's tough to end the year this way, but I'd rather go out this way than getting whipped. We really ended up having a solid year taking second place in the SWC as well as reaching the Regional finals and playing really good ball."
