Pointers thump shorthanded Boscobel

Mineral Point wrestlers traveled to Boscobel last week and only took on five opponents in a 75-5 SWAL win.
"I feel sorry for Boscobel with only five kids wrestling," said Mineral Point coach Scott Schmitz. "Hopefully they can turn the program around and get some wrestlers."
The match began at 220 lbs., but the first match wrestled was at 113 when Pointer Danny Pittz beat Braeden Pickett 5-1.
"Danny wrestled a good, sound match," Schmitz said.
Then, at 132, Bulldog Dakota Fraizen tech falled Karsten Bakken 19-4 for their only points.
"I think Karsten has lost some confidence," Schmitz pointed out. "Hopefully he gets it back for tournaments."
Riley Workman then pinned Chase Beinborn in 2:51.
"Beinborn is one of their better wrestlers and Riley dominated him," said Schmitz.
Grant Rose, at 170, pinned Acherbach in 2:59. "Grant dominated him," the Pointer coach said. "It was good to get him another varsity win."
The final match wrestled saw Kaleb Pilling pin Preston Pearson in 3:46.
"This was a big win for Kaleb. It will help him progress into February," Schmitz pointed out.
The Pointers travel to Black Hawk High School Friday night for their final dual of the regular season, taking on Darlington/Black Hawk.
"They fill all their weights. This should be a good match," Schmitz said.
