by the Falcons in the NFC Championship game. Atlanta was definitely the
better team that day. The Packers just didn't play well. When the Packers
missed their first field goal and then fumbled on a drive that may have finished
in a touchdown, the game would've been tied at 10-10 at that point.
Instead it was 17-0 after the fumble and Falcon drive for a TD. Then the
Packers missed a golden opportunity for a fumble recovery deep in Atlanta
territory plus missed three interceptions. But you also have to be able to stop
the other team, especially cover their receivers. We could go into injuries, but
every team has them - maybe not as many as the Packers, but.... Then you
have to give credit to Packer end Jordy Nelson playing with his broken ribs
and all padded up. He still had six receptions! And for cousin Jeanette - "Go
Falcons!"

Here's another change of ownership coming up. Max and Tracy Hofkes

Dodgeville. They are planning some changes in what they will offer and be
open more hours each day. Good luck to them!

I see the city workers out repairing potholes in some of the streets in
Dodgeville. I sure hope they take care of East Division Street soon - it's horrible!

With the weather in the 40s a lot right now, it really has gotten rid of pretty
much all the snow. But we have snow in the forecast for almost every day
from Tuesday through Sunday this week, so maybe it will be replenished!

The first Saturday in February starts the winter sports tournament trail when
the conference wrestling meets are held. Then comes regionals, sectionals
then state. That ends the wrestling season. Basketball finishes up in March.
Girls regionals start February 21 and boys regionals February 28. Then it's
on to spring sports - baseball, softball track & field, soccer.

There is always a lot of hype about the "Final Four" in NCAA basketball.
How come nobody ever mentions the "Final Four" in NFL football - that's
where the Packers ended up!
