Fast start propels Pointers

Mineral Point jumped to a 12-0 lead and never looked back in a 65-45 win over Riverdale Friday night in SWAL action.
They led 34-15 by halftime.
Every girl saw ample playing time and all 10 players scored.
Malorie johnson led all scorers with 14 points - 10 coming in the first half.
McKenns Reichling added 13 with Kyla Lindsey hitting 9 from off the bench.
"I thought our defense got us off to a good start," said Pointer coach Mitch Wainwright. "The 12-0 run helped us settle in on both ends of the floor. Riverdale's half-court pressure caused some problems early on but we were able to make some adjustments, found open players and converted on good opportunities."
The coach added, "I thought McKenna Reichling made some really good decisions in transition and either hit an open shot or found the open teammate. It was a good night offensively as well with every player scoring for us."
"It was great to see Kyla Lindsey start to find her shot coming off the bench and scoring 9 points, including a couple of 3's. Nicole Johnson continues to do a great job rebounding, leading us with 13 rebounds. It was a very good "team" win," the coachconcluded saying.
Riverdale's Callie Arellano led their offense with 12 points.
