Dodger girls stay perfect

Four players hit in double figures as the Dodgeville girls basketball team kept their unbeaten streak going at eight with a 68-53 SWC win over Lancaster Friday night.
Hannah Jones led all scorers with 23 points while Olivia Argall added 18.
Ellie Argall hit 11 of her 14 in the first half while JoJo Heimerl put in all of her 10 points in the second half.
Heimerl nailed three three pointers while Olivia Argall put in one.
The Dodgers led 33-26 at halftime as Arrow Morelia Galvan hit a trio of three pointers in that first period to help keep her team close. She finished the game with 20 points.
Lancaster's Brooklyn Connelly added 13 markers.
"We played like we have been on the road for five straight games," said Dodger coach Josh Busch. "We did not have much energy and really had to grind our way thorough. Lancaster did a nice job of handling our pressure early and we struggled to find a rhythm on offense."
He added, "We got a big first half from Ellie. It was good to see her get going like that. The girls did a great job of grinding it and I was happy that they reacted that way. They don't want to lose and it is starting to show."
"We shot better from the free throw line (22/32) which kept a little space between us and them, so that was great to see," Busch pointed out.
"We are ready for a little break before we go play our toughest games of the year here in the next couple weeks," Busch concluded.
The Dodgers are now 8-0 on the season.
