"Final Four" starting this Sunday. All through this season's playoff games
the home team hadn't won a game. That pitted the two bottom seeded teams
against each other for the Western Section championship Sunday at
Dodgeville (vs Hollandale). The Knights broke that no-win-at-home streak
with a 11-2 win over the Rockies. That puts them up against Stoughton this
Sunday with another home game. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at Centennial Park.

Sunday I had the help of Mike Jones, along with Mike and Juli Nohns in
the concession stand. I surely couldn't have done it without them. Mike was
cooking away to try to keep up with the burgers, brats and hot dogs while
Mike and Juli waited on people pretty much one after another the entire
game. I think they got to sit down for 10 seconds a couple of times during
the game. I know that I didn't get to see a run score for us - I did see the first
run score for Hollandale. This was probably the largest crowd I'd seen at
Centennial Park for quite some time!

I helped out a little at the Dodgeville Days Fun Run/Walk on Saturday
morning. It was sponsored by Upland Hills Health and they had a good group
of volunteers helping out. I think there were about 17 or so runners and about
the same number of walkers. There was no charge to enter and each person
received a t-shirt and a "goody" bag full of local and helpful things. Thanks
to Upland Hills for running that event! Above you'll see some of the youngsters
taking off at the start of their race.

Downtown had a good Saturday with Thursday and Friday being pretty fair
too. There were shoppers who came in bunches and the fire department had
a truck out for kids to check out on Friday and Saturday.

This weekend is the annual Iowa County Antique Collectors Power Show
at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point. Make a stop at it to see
how farm work was done in the "old days!"
